Spring 2003 Playwrights-in-Residence named.
From March 2 to May 2, 2003, playwrights Melanie Marnich and
David Scott Hay will be in residence at the Inge House and teach
playwriting at Independence Community College and Independence High
School.

The Inge Festival and ICC will host the Independence Chamber of
Commerce Business After Hours party at the Inge House.

Guest Actress Susan Angelo will talk about her experiences as an
Actress in theatre, film and television and as founder and director of
the Professional Training program at Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum.

Playwrights in
Residence at the Inge House Professional Playwrights,
Marcia Cebulska and Colin Denby Swanson,
begin first Inge Festival residencies Sept. 30-Nov 22.
While in residence the playwrights
will work on their own plays, teach a Playwrights-in-the-Schools
program at Independence High School and a playwriting workshop at
Independence Community College.

Festival
Receives NEA GrantFor
the first time in its 22 year history the Inge Festival has been
awarded a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
from the NEA's Challenge America Fast Track Grants program, making
the Inge Festival the only theatre organization in Kansas to
receive NEA funding.

More than $18,000 will be used to
improve Festival Events, Playwrights-in-the-Schools Programming
