“COMES ONCE
IN A LIFETIME” –
A musical performance tribute to the
late
Adolph Green, a recipient of the Inge Festival’s Distinguished
Achievement in the American Theatre Award. Presented by an ensemble
of professional actors/singers/ dancers, special guest stars from
Broadway and Hollywood and a chorus of our best local talent.
Director’s Package includes (1) one ticket to the performance.
Individual tickets $12. Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. The William Inge
Theatre, ICC Campus.
Inge Collection
– A
collection of Inge memorabilia
including his personal library, artifacts from his life, furniture,
papers, original manuscripts. Periodic presentations with Inge
Biographer, Ralph Voss. See daily schedules. ICC Library. Free
admission.

Theatre Workshops & Panels –
Workshops conducted by
leading theatre professionals on playwriting, acting, directing, play

Inge’s Independence –
Time to
“break away” and spend some time dining and shopping in downtown
Independence at various “Main Street Independence” merchants.
List of featured restaurants and retail establishments available at
registration. Free shuttle bus also available from the Inge Theatre
on the ICC campus to downtown Independence. Registration required for
bus. Thursday, April 10 from 12:15 – 2 p.m.
“BUS STOP”
Performance –
A reading of William Inge’s wonderfully
acclaimed play starring this year’s honoree for Distinguished
Achievement in the American Theatre, Romulus Linney as Dr. Lyman and
featuring other professional guest artists. Directed by Jill
André. Thursday, 7:30 p.m. William Inge Theatre, ICC.
Moonglow
– An after-show party
featuring live music with dancing, hors d’oeuvres, desserts and open
bar. Included in Director’s Package. Limited tickets available at
$18 each. Thursday, 7:30 p.m. Independence Historical Museum.
A Conversation with Romulus Linney
– Intimate discussion
concerning the playwright’s life and work in the theatre. Time for
questions from the audience. Director’s
Package or Daytime Pass required for

Moveable Feast
– A delicious sack lunch
that can be eaten at various locations while Festival attendees get to
mingle informally with honorees, scholars and other special guests.

Scholar’s
Conference –
Presentation of selected scholarly
papers on William Inge and Romulus Linney. Conference Director: Dr.
Jackson Bryer, The University of Maryland. ICC Campus. Director’s

not available.) Friday, April 11 from 1:45 – 4 p.m.
Gala Dinner Party & Silent Auction with Special Awards Presentation
– Silent auction of theatre
memorabilia including an autographed 1974 Tony Award nomination of
Harold Prince’s “Candide.” All proceeds from the silent auction
benefit the maintenance and restoration of the boyhood home of William
Inge. Event will feature special awards presentation, gourmet meal,
and live performances. Included in Director’s Package. All other
tickets $60 each. Limited seating available. Friday, April 11 with
silent auction & cocktails beginning at 6 p.m.; dinner at 7 p.m.

2003 New Voices in American Theatre
– Play
reading of THE BELLS by New Voices in American Theatre
Award-winner, Theresa Rebeck. Director’s Package or Daytime Pass
required for admission. No individual tickets available. Saturday,
April 12, 10:15 a.m. with discussion following after the picnic
luncheon. William Inge Theatre.
Picnic Luncheon
– Riverside Park, inside the
4-H building. Live jazz band and delicious lunch inspired by William
Inge’s play, PICNIC. Included in Director’s Package.
Individual tickets available at $12 Adults, $7 ages 3-11. Under 3

Distinguished Achievement in American Theatre award-winning
playwright, Romulus Linney.

to International Opera Star, Samuel Ramey –
Coveted
award for Kansas Citizen of the Arts presented to internationally
renowned bass-baritone and Kansas native, Samuel Ramey. Independence

A Night at the Movies:
Old-fashioned fun viewing one of William Inge's great classic
films in downtown Independence. An alternate event for those not
wishing to attend the Gala dinner & silent auction. Friday, April
